How To Get There

Cancun to Chiquila (By Bus or Car):

• By Bus: Take a bus from the Cancun Bus Terminal to Chiquila. The journey takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. Bus companies like ADO operate services to Chiquila.
• By Car: If you prefer driving, you can rent a car and head to Chiquila. The drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Chiquila to Isla Holbox (By Ferry):

• From Chiquila, you’ll need to leave your car at the port and take a ferry to Isla Holbox.
• Ferries run every 30 minutes and the journey takes 15 minutes. Tickets for the Holbox ferry cost $220 MXN per person for adults and $160 MXN for children.

Tip! If there has been heavy rains, I would reconsider visiting as the streets flood pretty bad here. You will be carrying you luggage and walking through knee-high water.

Another important tip: BRING CASH. There is a limited number of ATMs on the island and even then, they are very unpredictable.
